The Director of MILE reports directly to the Dean of the College of Education of Governors State University.
Steering Committee
A Steering Committee comprised of superintendents of regional school districts provide oversight
and direction to the Director of MILE. Meeting three to four times per year, the Steering Committee
will identify resource and collaboration needs, and respond to plans for programming, teacher
preparation matters, and staff development needs. The Steering Committee includes leaders
from unit, elementary, and high school districts in the Cook, Will, and Kankakee counties. The
Dean of the College of Education is an ex-officio member.
